Book Week is here!

21/08/2015
Book Week begins nationally this Saturday (22nd August) and will be celebrated throughout the school next week. You will note this year there are two themes: ‘books light up the world’ (Children’s Book Council Australia) and ‘Explore an Ocean of Books’ (Scholastic).  Students will have opportunities within class next week to engage with both themes.
For many, the highlight will be our WDSS Book Character Costume Parade on Thursday 27th August commencing at 9:15am. However, the Book Fair, and the opportunity to purchase quality resources at great prices, is also highly valued.
Arrangements for the Book Fair are listed below.
-          Mini catalogues outlining a sample of the available resources were sent home on Wednesday.  For conveniencve you can also access this catalogue here. We will have approximately $10 000 worth of resources on show, so the catalogue highlights just a small number of the resources available. This catalogue will also be loaded onto the WDSS school web page for ease of access.
-          All classes will have an opportunity to view (and purchase)  available resources during their allocated library time;
-           The library will be open for the wider school community to both view and/or purchase at the times listed below. Rostered school staff will be pleased to help you with your purchases. Just follow the signs to the LIC building at the top of the school!
